  • Russian peacekeepers organized the transfer of humanitarian aid to refugees and large families of remote settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh

    The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh provided humanitarian aid from Russian public organizations and charitable foundations to Khnkavan and Chapar settlements of the Mardakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh. In total, about 1,000 people now live in the two settlements. Many of them need help.

    During the humanitarian action, Russian peacekeepers handed over essential items, household items, clothes, hygiene items, toys and strollers for children to refugees and internally displaced persons.

    “Today, Russian peacekeepers have provided assistance to residents of the two most remote settlements of the Mardakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Humanitarian actions were carried out primarily to provide residents with clothing, basic necessities and medicines,” said Igor Sivakov, head of the Humanitarian Response Centre of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. “Today, Russian peacekeepers have provided assistance to residents of the two most remote settlements of the Mardakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

    In addition to goods and products, families were given individual medical kits, which include a small set of the most essential medicines and dressings.

    In total, Russian peacekeepers handed over to the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh about 155 tons of humanitarian supplies delivered to Armenia by Russian charitable organizations and foundations.
